FAQs
Why join a group cooking workshop instead of meal prepping at home?
Group workshops are a social, productive, and educational experience designed to build confidence and real-life skills in the kitchen—plus the accountability to actually follow through with meal prep (instead of putting it off).
You’ll learn practical, evidence-based healthy eating tips—guided by Registered Dietitians—so you’re not just following recipes, but understanding how to build balanced meals, adapt to your preferences, and make choices that support your energy, health, and lifestyle long after the workshop ends.
What if I or my family are picky eaters? Will this work for us?
Yes! Our recipes are flexible, balanced, and designed to please even the pickiest of eaters. Many recipes include mix-and-match options, swaps, or seasoning adjustments, so you can tailor them to your household’s preferences.
Plus, learning cooking skills from scratch helps you adapt recipes at home with confidence.
I’m a beginner home cook — are these workshops for me?
Absolutely! Workshops are designed for all skill levels.
Step-by-step instruction, hands-on guidance, and support are provided so you can learn, practice, and gain confidence in the kitchen.
Mocktails & Meal Prep gives quick wins in the comfort of your own home, our Stock Your Freezer workshops teach you meal prep strategies with hands-on support available from our dietitian and volunteers, and the From Scratch workshop series focuses on teaching you new cooking skills to limit intake of processed foods and make delicious food with staples you already have on hand.
Can I attend with a friend or family member?
Yes! You can bring a friend, partner, or teen. These workshops are designed to be social and hands-on—cooking together makes the experience more fun, motivating, and memorable.
For virtual workshops: You’re welcome to invite friends or family to join from your location (one registration required), or have them join from their own home (separate registrations required).
For in-person workshops: You can encourage your friend to sign up with you (each of you will prepare and take home full servings), or choose to share a spot (divide the servings between the two of you).
What do I need to bring?
For virtual workshops: You’ll need to purchase ingredients (a grocery list and Instacart link will be provided). We recommend starting with a clean kitchen and having your ingredients and equipment laid out ahead of time.
For in-person workshops: We provide all ingredients, equipment, and guidance—you just need to show up and enjoy the experience!
How do these workshops support healthy eating?
All workshops are led by a registered dietitian, combining balanced, nutrient-rich recipes with practical cooking strategies.
You’ll learn how to cook tasty meals that fit your health goals, reduce processed foods, and make time for strategic meal prep to keep these healthy eating habits sustainable.
Do You Have Private Health Insurance?
Did you know you may be eligible for partial or full reimbursement of your workshop registration? Some insurance providers cover group nutrition workshops when they’re facilitated by a Registered Dietitian.
Consider submitting an estimate or pre-approval request to your provider to see what’s covered.
Either way, consider this an investment in your health—because building confidence in the kitchen is key to creating healthy habits that truly last.
